Our Hair Treatments

At Dr Mélanin, we pride ourselves on offering innovative, long-term solutions to address a wide range of concerns. We are excited to announce that we are in the process of introducing three cutting-edge hair treatments: Laser hair removal, exosome therapy and polynucleotide therapy to treat unwanted hair, hair loss and hair thinning. Stay tuned as we bring these innovative treatments into our clinics!

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal (LHR) is an effective, safe and relatively painless method for permanently reducing unwanted hair. This treatment uses concentrated beams of light to target the melanin in hair follicles and destroy it without damaging surrounding skin, thus significantly reducing hair density, preventing regrowth and providing long lasting results. It may also help improve conditions that develop as a result of traditional hair removal methods such as folliculitis and ingrown hairs. Laser is generally suitable for all skin types; however, caution needs to be taken in skin of colour. A longer wavelength is required to ensure that laser only targets the pigment in the hair follicle and not the skin. The Nd:YAG laser is the most effective and safe in skin of colour and we will be introducing this technology into our clinics soon!

Exosomes

Exosome therapy represents a breakthrough in regenerative medicine. Exosomes are tiny vesicles secreted by stem cells that play a crucial role in cellular repair and regeneration. When applied to the scalp, exosomes deliver a concentrated dose of growth factors, cytokines, and genetic material directly to the hair follicles. This promotes the regeneration of damaged hair follicles by enhancing cellular communication and repair. Exosomes stimulate dormant hair follicles, encouraging them to enter the active growth phase, resulting in thicker and fuller hair. They also reduce inflammation and create a healthier scalp environment, which is essential for optimal hair growth. Exosome therapy is minimally invasive, with little to no downtime, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a non-surgical solution to hair thinning and loss.

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides therapy is a revolutionary treatment that utilises the natural building blocks of DNA to rejuvenate and revitalise hair follicles. Polynucleotides are long chains of nucleotides that play a key role in cellular functions and tissue repair. They promote the repair and regeneration of damaged cells within the hair follicles and improve microcirculation, ensuring that hair follicles receive the necessary nutrients and oxygen to thrive. By restoring the DNA structure within the hair follicles, polynucleotides help to slow down the aging process of the scalp and hair. This therapy is especially effective for individuals experiencing hair thinning due to aging or environmental factors. It helps to restore vitality and strength to your hair, making it look healthier and more robust.

The type of treatment depends on the underlying cause of your hair concerns. On average, laser hair removal generally requires between 6 – 10 sessions for good result. For hair loss and hair thinning treatments, this may vary between individuals so please book a consultation to receive accurate information. Please note we have not yet launched our hair treatments, but we will update our website as soon as we can!
We carefully prepare bespoke plans for all our clients, so prices can vary between individuals and treatments. We are still in the process of introducing these treatments to our clinics, but we will update our website as soon as we can!
We do everything we can to help reduce pain and discomfort during the treatment. We can use a numbing cream before the procedure to help make the procedure more comfortable for you; however, most of our clients do not usually require this. The needles we use are very fine and most patients experience minimal discomfort during and after the procedures.
Like any procedure, there are possible risks which will be discussed with you in detail during your consultation as these vary between treatments. The most common side effects for hair treatments are usually mild, bruising, redness, or swelling which usually settle within a few days. Please note our hair treatments have not been launched yet but please look out for any updates!
